WHAT IS COOLSCULPTING?

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved treatment for getting rid of stubborn fat cells in the body, using a fat freezing technology called Cryolipolysis. This exciting technology targets those tough and persistent fat cells permanently, helping the body eliminate these cells naturally, jumpstarting the process through the application of freezing temperatures.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR COOLSCULPTING?

CoolSculpting is not a treatment for weight loss and works best in patients who wish to target specific stubborn areas of fat that have not responded to diet and exercise. CoolSculpting is a great alternative for anyone who prefers to avoid anesthesia and more invasive surgical procedures.

IS IT SAFE?

CoolSculpting is the number one FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment for fat reduction, and clinical trials have proven it to be a safe and effective way to reduce fat in specifically targeted areas of the body, similar to Kybella.

DOES COOLSCULPTING HURT?

When the treatment begins, you may notice slight discomfort (tugging or stinging) for the first few minutes. Most patients are not bothered by these sensations and spend the time during their treatment reading a book or catching up on phone calls and email.

HOW LONG DO COOLSCULPTING RESULTS LAST?

Visible changes in your treatment area may be seen in as soon as 1-3 months post-treatment. The CoolSculpting process begins at your initial treatment date, however the real magic happens gradually over an extended amount of time, and final results may take six months or more while your body works to eliminate the dead fat cells.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF COOLSCULPTING?

The most common side effects of CoolSculpting are redness, minor swelling, bruising, tenderness and numbness in the treated area as a result of the intense cold temperature. These occurrences typically dissipate in one to two weeks in most cases.

HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

Depending on which area of the body we are treating, you may be seated in a comfortable chair or lying on your stomach. A cool gel pad will be applied to your skin on the treatment zone, and then the CoolSculpting applicator is applied, at which point you feel the tingling and tugging sensations. The applicator will remain on each treatment area for approximately 35 minutes. After the treatment, we’ll do a brief massage on the treatment zone to help break up the treated fat cells and enhance fat reduction.

HOW LONG DOES RECOVERY TAKE?

Most patients experience little to no downtime after treatment and return to their normal activities. This treatment is so easy it can even be performed during your lunch break!
