SkinTyte

As we age, it’s natural for our skin to lose elasticity, meaning it doesn’t stay as firm and tight as we would prefer, and doesn’t “snap back” the way it did when we were younger. If you are experiencing sagging, loss of elasticity, or overall wrinkling of the skin, SkinTyte may be right for you!

WHAT IS IT?

We love SkinTyte because it has a non-invasive approach and works over time, with full results after six months. This allows the skin to experience optimal results.

SkinTyte is part of the Laser and Light specialties offered at The Look through the mJOULE platform device from Sciton.

HOW IT WORKS

SkinTyte deposits heat into the dermis, which is deeper than the epidermis, also known as the resilient upper layer of the skin. The epidermis not only protects the dermis, but locks hydration into the skin. The highest temperature of the procedure will be locked into the dermis, resulting in tighter, firmer, more hydrated skin.

Results, Recovery & Interval

Results may take up to four months, with full results within six months. Suitable for all skin types, patients who choose to undergo the SkinTyte treatment will have no down or recovery time needed, and no special skincare products required post treatment. Just firmer, more youthful skin on face, neck, arms and abdomen!

Treatments are performed 3-4 weeks apart with a minimum of 4 treatments recommended. Optimal results will be 3-6 months after initial treatment. A consultation and assessment at The Look will determine if you are a candidate suitable for treatment using the SkinTyte procedure.

THINGS TO KNOW

Tight, firm skin requires good elasticity. Elasticity is how quickly the skin “snaps back” to the face or body when pulled. This is dependent upon collagen and elastin fibers within the skin. As we age, we produce less collagen, leaving our skin loose and sagging.

That paired with sun damage from ultraviolet light, and habits such as excessive alcohol consumption or smoking can destroy collagen and elastin in the dermis and cause the skin to loosen and sag. Even though the dermis is a deeper layer than the epidermis, changes to the dermis will show up in the form of wrinkling or sagging. As we grow older, the natural cellular reproduction in the dermal layer decreases, which causes our skin to not rejuvenate as quickly.
