We are so honored to help you find the perfect products to keep your skin glowing throughout the seasonal changes and challenges.

Since Covid began, so many of our patients have been upping their skin care game at home. Here’s why it’s so important: following a skincare routine at home can slow down the common signs of aging. It can also prevent damage from the sun and pollutants that make your skin look older. However, as vital as a skincare routine is, the products you use are equally important.

One step that should be a part of a home beauty routine is exfoliating. It removes the pollutants and dead skin cells that can dull complexions and cause breakouts, leaving the face and neck area bright and smooth. However, not all exfoliators are the same. To ensure you get the best results, here are our staff’s top 5 favorite exfoliators!

MIDFACE AND CHEEK AUGMENTATION

TOP 5 EXFOLIATORS

1. Lite Lytic Tx (Epionce)

Gently clean pores and smooth the texture of your skin with Lite Lytic Tx. It is gentle enough to use on an infant’s skin so you know it won’t irritate your face and neck. With daily use, it will visibly reduce redness, irritation and other skin imperfections.

It is recommended that you wait for 5-7 minutes after using the gentle exfoliator before applying a moisturizer or makeup.

2. Polish Weekly Pads (The Look)

These convenient and effective exfoliating pads only need to be used once or twice a week to diminish pore size and smooth skin. These weekly use pads contain Salicylic acid and Azeloyl trichloroacetamide, two of the most effective ingredients used to maintain the effects of filler injections and other types of aesthetic treatments.

The Look does require first buyers to have a brief online or in-person meeting with a skincare consultant to discuss product use.

3. Dual Action Scrub

Exfoliate and calm irritated skin with this dual-action facial scrub. It’s formulated to remove oil and target acne-causing bacteria. Lactic and salicylic acid are combined to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, while tea tree leaf oil removes excess oil and destroys bacteria that can clog the pores.

The exfoliating scrub also protects your skin from damaging free radicals up to 12 hours. Vitamins A, C and E are encapsulated and released over time for maximum effectiveness.

4. Exfoliating Polish (ZO)

Good Housekeeping’s Institute Beauty Lab gave this exfoliating polish top place in its list of 6 best face scrubs. The polishing scrub is designed to remove any dead skin cells and other impurities.

The magnesium crystals exfoliate and polish the skin on your neck and face to reveal a smooth, clear, even skin tone. Your complexion will be brighter and younger-looking. It also provides antioxidant protection in the form of Vitamins A, C and E.

5. Gentle Cleanse

It’s not always easy taking care of sensitive skin. Oil removing cleansers might take care of “shiny skin” and prevent acne breakouts but your skin is usually left red and irritated. With this foaming cleanser from The Look, you can have beautiful skin no matter how sensitive it is.

Formulated especially for sensitive skin, the gentle foaming cleanser removes oil and makeup, without irritation. Containing Evodiox, from the Chinese Evodia rutaecarpa plant, you can safely use Gentle Cleanse every day without worrying about irritation.

At The Look, we are here to answer any of your questions or provide some expert advice. Please feel free to contact us, we look forward to hearing from you! Don’t forget we are now offering virtual consultations as well.

BE SUN SMART

Beyond wearing sunscreen, be smart about your daily skin exposure. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends the following in addition to wearing sunscreen:

  • Find shade when you’re outside and try to avoid the sun’s rays between 10am and 2pm when they are strongest.
  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat and protective clothing when possible.
  • Remember environments like water, snow and sand have reflective power and can increase your chance of burning.
  • Avoid tanning beds. Period! Use a self-tanner instead.
  • Visit a board-certified dermatologist each year for a full body mole check.
